6-22-08 Sermon Recap

This week Philip's sermon was related to the move "Get Smart". The topic was getting into God's Word. We all have busy lives and we all at times struggle with our quiet time. Even though we know that it very well could be the most important part of our day. We get to busy for God. Philip gave some good ideas on reference material and how to better study the Bible. One of the most powerful points of he messages was when Philip spoke on how important is was to read the Word with our Kids. To hear the full sermon podcast click here

The first motion backgrounds we made ourselves

This is fun when you can begin to create your own loops. This one is not perfect but is is a step in the right direction. This kind of stuff really gets me excited!

This weeks message....

Each summer we create a sermon series that takes the blockbusters movies and spins them into practical messages. So far we have done Narnia, Speed Racer, Indiana Jones and this week was Sex and the City. So the topic of the week was obvious SEX. Seems simple enough but the topic of sex in the church is extremely difficult. Philip message this morning was simple and clear don;t let sex ruin relationships whether current or future. He spoke to young singles and married couples alike. Sex is a beautiful gift and dangerous weapon. To hear the full sermon click here. Below are some photos from our service.

And away we go.....

This is the first in what I hope becomes many blogs for and about this church. I will try to explain what we are all about as we go along but the summed up version goes like this:
We are a three year old church plant in East Atlanta. We started on September 1, 2005 in a Large Movie Theater but when the price of the theater became too steep we moved into a Private School/ Daycare.
We run anywhere between 50-75 each week. As far as I know we are self sustaining and are not being supported by any other organization or churches at this time (which if you have ever planted a church know is a huge step). We have a 5 member staff that includes volunteers. Each of us have a job separate of Church. The lead pastor is Philip Lehman, he handles the the teaching each week and all of the other pastorly duties that fall on him. Philip also owns a small advertising business. Jeff McCammon is out Administrative Pastor, he handles the finances and fills in for Philip when thing call Philip elsewhere. Jeff is teacher at one of the Local High schools. David Collinsworth is the lead Worship arts pastor, he organizes and leads the band each week. Brien Duke is the other worship arts pastor, he works for Georgia Power. Brad Williams (Me) is the creative director, I manage the website and create graphics and videos for each week. I am an IT director at a local business. We are a church who loves God and we want to show others about this awesome journey we are on. We have upbeat worship, casually dressed services and practical down to earth messages. Well thats the short and sweet version hopefully you will learn more about us in the coming weeks through this blog. If you would like to know more about us right now go to OUR WEBSITE
